The Counselling Centre provides free academic and career counselling to registered and prospective students and free personal and crisis counselling to registered students.

Career Counselling:

The Counselling Centre can assist students who are unsure of their career interests and are having difficulty choosing a College program that best suits their strengths and goals.
Our counsellors can provide career interest testing, which is available free of charge to registered students and at a cost of $75 for prospective students. The Counselling Centre utilizes the Strong Interest Inventory, a career exploration tool that provides students or prospective students with a detailed report. The report is reviewed with the individual during a follow-up appointment with a counsellor.

Academic Counselling:

 For students who are uncertain of any aspect of the educational process, and may need assistance in developing an educational plan, or have questions ranging from program prerequisites to College-University transfer agreements, the Counselling Centre can help.

The Centre can also be used as a resource for students who are experiencing difficulties with respect to their academic performance. Our counsellors can assist students to identify areas of difficulty and help them develop strategies to improve their performance.

Personal and Crisis Counselling:

The Counselling Centre provides brief personal counselling (1-3 sessions, as required). This service is available to registered students who require professional counselling to assist in coping with issues that are personal in nature – issues that could range from loneliness and stress to anxiety management. If it is in the student’s best interests, our Counsellors can also refer the student to professionals outside of the College for specialized services.
