Cambrian College’s Non-smoking Policy, in part, states:
Smoking is not permitted in any Cambrian-owned vehicle or building, except in specifically designated areas. The front entrance to Cambrian College, extending from the Day Care to, and including, the Student Centre is entirely smoke-free, as is the main entrance to NORCAT and the main entrance to Trades.
Other entrances to the College continue to be governed by the City of Greater Sudbury Smoke-Free Public Places and Workplaces By-Law 2002-300 that states that smoking is not permitted within a 9-metre (30-foot) radius of any entrance.
For the full Policy, please contact the Safety and Security Office at Cambrian College at extension 7298.
Enforcement procedures
Cambrian College Security officers will issue tickets to those smoking in non-designated smoking areas. Infractions will result in a $50 fine, which can be paid in the Registrar’s office. Failure to pay the fine will result in other punitive measures.
For the health of it
Cambrian College’s Non-smoking Policy is intended to provide a safe and healthy environment, to prevent damage to College property, and to comply with the City of Greater Sudbury Smoke-Free Public Places and Workplaces By-Law 2002-300.
