Previous Capital Campaigns 

Listed below are the previous capital campaigns undertaken by the Cambrian Foundation:

Cambrian Transformation 2000: An Education Quality and Accessibility Initiative (SuperBuild) was established to provide the means to meet student access and programming demands. The project costs of $25.58 million were funded by $14.84 million from SuperBuild funds and about $9 million from industry partners. Educationally, this project addressed a number of key areas including: enhanced skilled trades programs and industry needs for technologically astute skilled trades people; applied research in the areas of wildlife restoration, eco-tourism, electronic control applications in harsh environments, industrial automation, and virtual learning; information technology enhancements that support student growth and employability; health care programs that reflect the diversity and directions of that field; and space requirements for the double cohort of students in 2003.

Ontario Student Opportunity Trust Fund (OSOTF) Campaign concluded on March 31, 2000. This campaign raised $1.12M, which was matched by the Province of Ontario to form a new Scholarship Endowment of $2.24M. Each year the interest generated by this endowment will be awarded annually to Cambrian College students.

Unleash the Potential and Create a Lifetime of Opportunities Capital Campaign in support of The Glenn Crombie Centre for Disability Services was launched in the spring of 1995. The official opening of the Centre was in June 1996. The Centre includes a specialized computer lab for assessments and orientation, resource classrooms, specialized equipment and technology rooms, independent learning and testing rooms, and personal care rooms. Today over 800 persons with physical disabilities or learning disabilities access the services of the Centre as they undertake their studies at Cambrian College. The Capital Campaign goal of $3.5M was attained.

Investing in Our Northern Heritage Capital Campaign was launched in Fall 1991 to help construct and furnish a 300-bed residence at Cambrian College's Barrydowne campus. The Capital Campaign goal of $3.3M was attained. An additional $300,000 challenge goal was set and attained which provided additional funds for the establishment of new scholarships and bursaries.
