Cambrian’s Dental Programs Assist the Community

Feature
January 2006

On January 12, 2006, students, faculty, and staff of Cambrian College’s Dental Hygiene and Dental Assisting programs donated oral hygiene products to the community’s various outreach programs, including the Canadian Red Cross, Sudbury Branch; the Corner Clinic, which is affiliated with Centre de santé communautaire de sudbury; and the Elgin Street Mission. The donation had a retail value of over $10,000 and included 3,105 toothbrushes, over 1,000 tubes of toothpaste, and a variety of other dental products that will be distributed to those in need.

The funds that were used to purchase the products were raised through the College’s third annual Walk for a Smile event, which took place on Wednesday, October 19, 2005, at Cambrian College’s Barrydowne campus.
