Cambrian's top athletes were honoured at the annual Golden Shield Athletics Banquet that was held in the Student Centre on March 31. Laura Fowler was honoured as Female Athlete of the Year, CCAA Volleyball All Canadian, and OCAA Volleyball Player of the Year. Mitch Mallette and James Castonguay were co-recipients of the Male Athlete of the Year award and Golden Shield coaches Brad Hann and Dale Beausoleil were named co-recipients of the Coach of the Year Award.

The Vern Down Memorial Bursary went to Curtis Bell. The team awards for most valuable player were given to Josh Bujold, cross country running; Samantha Sheppard and Jody Carruthers, badminton; Erin Persi, women's soccer; Duop Wur, men's soccer; James Castonguay, men's volleyball; Laura Fowler, women's volleyball; Mitch Mallette, men's basketball; and Jordan Shelleby, women's fastball.

The 30 OCAA All-Academic athletes and two CCAA Academic All Canadian athletes were also recognized at the event, which was held in the Colleges' Student Centre.
