Cambrian’s top athletes were honoured at the annual Golden Shield Athletics Banquet that was held in the Student Centre on April 21. Amanda Kosmerly received the Female Athlete of the Year Award, and Ryan Rows was named Male Athlete of the Year. Golden Shield cross-country running coach, Jack Kosmerly received the Coach of the Year Award.

The Vern Down Memorial Bursary went to Carolyn Craig-Paul and Melissa Braido. The team awards for most valuable player were given to Amanda Kosmerly, cross country running; Ryan Rows and Kathryn Bobbie, badminton; Erin Persi, women’s soccer; Eric Penn, men’s soccer; James Kurshaw, men’s volleyball; Laura Fowler, women’s volleyball; and Krista De Boer, women’s fastball.

The 36 OCAA All-Academic athletes and the six CCAA Academic All-Canadian athletes were also recognized.
