Cambrian College's Wellness Committee was honoured with a gold award at the annual Workplace Wellness Champion Awards luncheon held Wednesday, October 24, 2007, at the Quality Inn.
The award, which is sponsored by Heart Health and the Sudbury & District Health Unit, was designed to help workplaces achieve their goals of improving the health and well-being of their employees. Awards are presented to organizations that complete health promotion strategies including awareness raising, education, providing a supportive environment, and developing policies/guidelines. Cambrian's Wellness Committee was nominated for the award by Roxanne Richer, a former co-op student in Student Services and Strategic Initiatives.
"This committee has acted as a strong team in helping Cambrian define its policies involving College wellness issues and implementing many strategies and initiatives that help make Cambrian a swell place to work and learn." Sylvia Barnard, Cambrian College President
