Cambrian College reinforced its longstanding relationship with the Anishnaabe people through the official raising of the Wabnobe Institute flag on Thursday, September 13, 2007.
The flag is a representation of a painting presented to the College in 1988 by artist and Cambrian alumnus Wayne Trudeau, entitled "The Harvest of Knowledge." The design features a lodge, which, historically, was one of the first places for the Anishnaabe people to gather; an eagle, who is the messenger for prayers to the creator; and people within the lodge, who are sharing their knowledge with one another.
The flag symbolizes the College's partnership with the Anishnaabe people at the College and with communities in Ontario and in other provinces.
