June 2007

Cambrian College and the four area school boards, the Rainbow District School Board, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l'Ontario, and Le Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario, today acknowledged 12 students who completed the Apprenticeship Plus program and eight students who were the first to complete the new Administrative Assistant Advantage program.

Through these programs, the students earned dual credits through courses that count towards both a high school diploma and a college credential. Both the Apprenticeship Plus and the Administrative Assistant Advantage programs are designed to help students gain hands-on knowledge in a college setting and to gain a greater understanding of career demands and possibilities. The goal of the dual credit programs is to help students transition more easily from secondary school to a postsecondary institution.
