Cambrian Hosts Private Security and Investigative Services Act Information Session

Feature
August 2007

Cambrian College's eDome was the venue for an information session on the Private Security and Investigative Services Act, 2005, which will take effect on August 23, 2007. The session was led by Jon Heberman, Registrar of the Private Security and Investigative Services Branch with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.

Heberman answered questions and provided an overview of the Act, which will require those employed in the security industry to complete mandatory training. Through eDome's technology, the session was webcast live via the Internet to locations across the province, enabling over 81 security industry managers and employees to participate in the session.

Cambrian College offers a number of programs in the security field, including Police Foundations, Community and Justice Services, and Law and Security Administration.
