On March 1, 2008, Cambrian College Civil Engineering students, along with professors, College administrators, and Cambrian College President Sylvia Barnard participated in the second annual Canstruction Competition at the New Sudbury Centre. Four teams from Cambrian entered the event, which requires participants to design and build structures that are made entirely from cans of food. All the food used during the competition is later donated to the Sudbury Food Bank and Meals on Wheels.
