Cambrian Professor Creates CBC Documentary Series

Feature
May 2008

Jessica Grillanda, coordinator of the College's Broadcast - New Media program, will be heard on CBC Radio One stations across the country starting in July. Her new bi-weekly column, Eco-Tips, will focus on simple tips for "greening" your lifestyle.

"So much of the environmental coverage you hear on the radio and see on television makes you feel like just throwing out your blue box because it all seems so pointless," said Jessica. "My series is meant to show people that simple lifestyle changes can make a big, big difference."

A few topics in the upcoming documentary series include composting with worms, clothing swaps, and eco-scaping your yard. Jessica joined Cambrian in the fall of 2007, but worked for CBC National Radio prior to becoming a professor.
