Cambrian College received more than $3-million in funding from the Ontario government to help meet the province's growing need for workers in the skilled trade sectors and to help Métis and Aboriginal students achieve postsecondary success.
Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci announced a provincial investment of $3-million to enhance Cambrian's skills training facilities and to establish new programs. The College received an additional $156,390 to develop online health sciences courses for Aboriginal students and to help Métis students research their family roots and learn more about the Métis nation.
"This announcement is all about youth - investing in our youth and understanding that it will have significant returns. It's about building a future together," said Rick Bartolucci, Sudbury MPP.
"Our focus at Cambrian College is on how to best serve our students and provide business and industry with the best possible graduates - graduates that drive our economy," said Sylvia Barnard, Cambrian College President.
