Cambrian College's school of Music ended its concert season with the annual Senior Awards Concert on Wednesday, April 11, 2007, in the amphitheatre at the College's Barrydowne campus.
Top Music program students performed diverse musical repertoire for scholarships and prizes. Among the winners are, Melinda Lapalme, voice; Natisha Guillemettes, winds; Kelsey Lenti, piano; Francois Bergeron, guitar; and Shane Wallace, strings. Tyler Farquharson won top place for percussion and was also named overall winner.
Proceeds from the concert went toward the Cambrian College Music program bursary fund.
About Cambrian College's Music Program
Cambrian's three year Music Program is adapted to the needs of the aspiring musician and provides students with an opportunity to study a major and a minor in the following areas: brass, classical guitar, piano, percussion, strings, voice, and woodwinds. All students are involved in ensembles, weekly performance classes, choirs, orchestras, bands and jazz groups. Concerts are presented throughout the school year to showcase Cambrian's music students and faculty.
