On March 27, 2008, winners of the second annual Canstruction Competition were announced at the New Sudbury Centre, with Cambrian College winning in two of the six categories. The second-year Civil Engineering student team won the Honourable Mention Award for their Nickel Rim headframe structure, "Canstructing the Nickel Rim," while the team of Cambrian professors, administrators, and College President Sylvia Barnard won the Best Meal award for "CanInukuk?"
