Community and Justice Services Program Receives Donation

Feature
April 2008

Sudbury Jail Superintendent Roger Chenard visited Cambrian College on April 4 to view the bunks that were recently donated to the Community and Justice Services (formerly Correctional Worker) program by the Sudbury Jail. The bunks, which have been installed in the three jail cells that were obtained through the Ontario Realty Corporation when older facilities were closed, will enable students to practice security skills such as searches, fire drills, and report writing in a realistic environment equipped with standard features.

"This is a wonderful example of how our students benefit from community partnerships," said Jean Brown, Cambrian's Dean of Justice and Community Services. "Donations such as this one ensure that our students are provided with practical, hands-on learning opportunities using realistic facilities."
