On June 19, Cambrian College, the Rainbow District School Board, the Sudbury Catholic District School Board, Conseil scolaire public du Grand Nord de l’Ontario, and Le Conseil scolaire catholique du Nouvel-Ontario acknowledged the first Apprenticeship Plus students to complete the first level of the Cook Apprenticeship program.
Through the Apprenticeship Plus program, grade 11 and 12 students from the four area school boards earned dual credits - a combination of secondary school credits and the College’s Basic Cook Apprentice in-school credential. As well, through this pilot project, the students will receive advanced standing for the Advanced Cook Apprenticeship program and the Advanced Chef Training program at Cambrian College should they decide to continue their studies after secondary school in Cambrian College’s Hospitality programs.
