The Northern Centre for Advanced Technology (NORCAT) received $1 million from Xstrata Nickel on May 1, 2008, for the Centre's Innovation and Commercialization Park being built on the Cambrian College grounds off Maley Drive.

Cambrian President Sylvia Barnard thanked Xstrata for their donation, noting that the Innovation and Commercialization Park, once built, will provide a lot of real life leaning opportunities for Cambrian's students and will enhance the College's ability to provide a skilled and trained workforce.
