Rainbow Schools recognized Betty Freelandt, Vice-President of Student Services and Strategic Initiatives at Cambrian College, for her commitment to enriching the educational experience of students within Rainbow Schools and for her outstanding contribution to the Dual Credit program.

Over the years, the Rainbow board and Cambrian have built a powerful partnership for the benefit of students in Rainbow Schools. At the Board's annual Awards Ceremony on May 20, 2008, Freelandt was lauded for leading the implementation of a number of important programs, including the School College Work Initiative and the Learning to 18 programs, as well as her on-going work with the Rainbow Schools to improve educational opportunities for students.
