Feature
October 2008

The official kick-off for Cambrian College's 2008 United Way campaign was held on October 7 in the Student Centre at Cambrian's Barrydowne campus. Representatives from the United Way and member agencies were on hand to provide information to the staff and students who attended the special Toonie breakfast. Helping to serve pancakes and sausages were Sonia Del Missier, Vice President, Academic, Jennifer Howarth, President of SAC, Tony Skopyk, Campaign Chair and Manager of Admissions, Robert Bentzen, Manager of eDome, Carmen McKerral, office assistant at the Glenn Crombie Centre, Celina Cacciotti, Manager, Alumni Relations, and Helene Desbien-Helmes, Manager, Financial Services.

"This year's goal is $20,000, said Tony. "Cambrian has a long and strong tradition of helping in the community and the United Way campaign is just one of those instances. The success of today's event demonstrates that, once again, our staff and students understand the importance of our participation in this very worthy cause."

The United Way provides funding to over 50 community programs in the City of Greater Sudbury. A number of events are planned throughout the College for the campaign period of October 7 to December 5.
