Over 300 parents and students from grades 7 to 12 attended the Transitions event on November 21 at St. Benedict Catholic Secondary School. The event was designed to help students make key decisions in the transition from elementary to secondary school and from secondary school to college and university.
Current secondary school curriculum requires that students make educational choices as early as grades 7 and 8 and then in grades 10 and 12. The Transitions event provided tips to students and their parents as well as information about such things as educational pathways, Ontario Secondary School Diploma requirements, and researching postsecondary options.
