Cambrian’s Wabnode Institute was the venue for an announcement by a collaborative group of eight cancer and Aboriginal organizations on the development of a culturally-appropriate video aimed at demystifying cancer treatment for Aboriginal people. The video, which will be available in six Aboriginal languages, will be produced by Darlene Naponse’s Pine Needle Blanket Productions.
Northern Development and Mines Minister and Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci and Sister Rachelle Watier from the Ontario Trillium Foundation were on hand to make the announcement of a $225,000 grant from the Foundation. The funds will be used to cover key program costs involved in the production of this unique information tool.
