Joyce Helmer, the new Chair of the College’s Wabnode Institute, received a warm welcome from students, staff, and faculty at an event hosted by the Wabnode Institute and the Cambrian Native Students' Association on November 1, 2006.  Joyce, the former interim Director of Education with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, and a former professor and program coordinator for Cambrian College’s Native Community Care, Counselling and Development program, brings a wealth of educational and leadership experience and  extensive knowledge of Aboriginal values and culture to her new position at Cambrian.
