Starting the Application Process 

 OSAP Application  
For more information, or if you have questions, please go to the OSAP website where you will find more detailed information and the web application.

You can apply online, if you meet the following criteria:

  • You are enrolled or planning to enrol in an approved program at Cambrian College.
  • You are a Canadian citizen, a Permanent Resident of Canada, or a protected person.
  • You are enrolled or planning to enrol in a program that is 12 weeks or more in length.
  • You are or will be taking a minimum of 60% of a full course load, or 40% of a full course load if you have a permanent disability.
  • A paper application is also available at no charge. It can be printed from the OSAP website.

 

 
 

    Benefits of applying online

    • You can apply online any time of the day, any day of the week.
    • It is quick and easy.
    • You get an estimate of the amount of your funding as soon as you submit your application.

    Application Deadlines

    One semester program:
    Once you have submitted your online OSAP application, your application will be processed and then sent to Cambrian College's Financial Aid office. Your OSAP application must be received by Cambrian College's Financial Aid office within the first 30 days that your study period begins. You will not be entitled to your funding if your application is received more than 30 days after your study period has begun.

    Two or three semester's program:
    The application must be received by the Financial Aid office at Cambrian College within the first 45 days of the start of your study period. If your application is received after the first 45 days and no later than 90 days before your study period ends, you will be eligible for the funding portion from the date which your application is received. You will not be entitled to your funding if your application is received less than 90 days before the end of your study period.

    Tips to remember when completing your application

    • Be truthful and accurate.
    • Do not use terms such as NIL or N/A; leave these areas blank if they are not relevant to you.
    • Only enter dollar amounts, not cents.
    • Review your application before submitting.
    • Continuously report changes that relate to your income, program registration and course load.
    • Keep a copy of your completed application.
    • When in doubt:
          - Always ask questions to the financial aid staff.
          - Always have proper identification and proof of
            your SIN in your possession when requesting
            information or assestance from financial aid staff.
