ANIMATION (ANPG)

Ontario College Advanced Diploma (6 semesters)

Description

Cambrian College's Animation program is delivered through a partnership with Sheridan College and is based on the curriculum for Sheridan's Animation program at the diploma level. Students gain a working knowledge of both traditional and digital methods of animation while becoming proficient with the 12 basic principles of animation. The program enables students to develop strong storytelling, drawing, and animation skills that will translate to the screen through a series of exercises and an eventual final film. Through the art of animation, students will be able to breathe life into their drawings and computer-generated art and models.

The program is also designed with a strong focus on drawing from life and from the imagination as this is the key to the success of any animator, even those who choose to work with the digital medium.

Completion of the Animation program will result in the production of a portfolio and demo reel that will showcase the drawing, colour, and animation skills developed by the graduate.
