Description
The College Vocational program offered at Cambrian College may be suitable for students who experienced academic challenges and who may have credits at the workplace level. This is an individualized, supportive program to assist the student's development in academics and work skills, as well as fostering personal growth and independence. The main goal is career exploration and preparation for employment. Through classroom learning and work experience, students will have opportunities to gain life and vocational skills. The subjects are designed to enable each student to progress in language, mathematics, career planning, communication and human relations, as well as to gain knowledge and skills for living and working. Work training experiences are provided along with individual vocational assessment and career subjects to assist each student in planning realistically for an occupation and employment.

Areas of opportunity may vary from merchandising, shipping and receiving, retail, food services, services for children, recreation, outdoor services, office tasks and other related fields.
Admission Requirements
Ontario Secondary School Certificate or equivalent, or mature student status, including:
an interview with the Program Coordinator
Fieldwork/Placement
This program will provide students with the opportunity to explore various careers in the service sector or entry level trades or retail businesses through career exploration as well as placement opportunities.

Tuition Fee (Canadian Students)
The tuition fee for the 2011-2012 academic year is $3,336.58. Next year's tuition fees will be available April 1, 2012.
