Overview

Rejuvenate with a Cambrian College Massage Therapy Clinic 75-minute session!

Our skilled second- and third-year Massage Therapy students conduct a personal assessment tailored to you, supervised by registered health professionals. With your input, they develop a safe and effective treatment plan that addresses your therapeutic goals. The length of the assessment can vary, and the remaining time is used for direct, hands-on treatment. The complete treatment cost is only $25 (including HST and payment by debit and credit card only).

What should you expect?

All patients must undergo an initial assessment or a re-assessment. This allows the students to develop a safe and effective treatment plan that specifically addresses therapeutic goals.

The length of assessment can vary and the remaining time for that session will be used for direct, hands-on treatment.

At your appointment, you will be asked to complete the following:

A health history form

  • Clients are encouraged to complete a health history form prior to arrival
Clients will be required to update their information yearly

An Assessment

Clients are required to undergo an assessment or reassessments based on their condition and goals, which could include all or some of the following:

  • An interview
  • Blood pressure test
  • Postural assessment
  • Orthopedic assessment
  • Range of motion tests
  • Activities of daily living
  • Participate in the decision-making for their treatment
  • Providing written consent for sensitive areas (in some cases)

Please note the following:

  • It’s discouraged to give students gifts or tips
  • Clients may be booked with any of our students
  • Clients will be asked to complete surveys to provide feedback to students on their practice
  • Currently, we do not offer student discounts and Cambrian College student health insurance does not cover student massage treatments

Clinic Information

Cancellation or Rescheduling Procedure

The Clinic requires clients to provide a minimum of 48 hours prior notice for a cancellation or rebooking.

Our students must obtain a minimum number of hands-on treatment hours to be successful in the clinic. When clients cancel their appointment last minute or do not show up to their appointment, the student is then at risk of losing those hours.

Missed Appointments/No-Shows

If the client has three missed appointments (no-shows) in a row, the client will no longer be able to book appointments online or may be subject to discharge from the clinic. In this event, the client will be contacted through e-mail by the Clinical Lead/Faculty Advisor for the Massage Clinic.

Privacy and Confidentiality of Personal Health Information

Our privacy policies and procedures comply with the Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). Our Privacy Policy ensures the Cambrian College Massage Therapy Programs’ commitment to protecting your private health and personal information. The Privacy Policy is available upon request, by asking any of our faculty, staff, or students.
