Overview
Push the red emergency button for immediate Code Blue help
Our dedicated security guards are on duty 24 hours a day and 7 days a week and serve as the College’s emergency first responders. Trained in fire safety, first aid, and the use of defibrillators, they promptly respond when summoned by the Code Blue system, a blue strobe light activated by pressing the red “Push for Help” button on emergency telephones located throughout the buildings and grounds.
Cambrian Safe App
Cambrian Safe is the official safety app of Cambrian College. Cambrian Safe, is a one-stop app where students, faculty, and staff can go for information, assistance, and real-time alerts regarding health and safety. Cambrian Safe includes emergency procedures, campus safety initiatives, support resources, and real-time alerts for emergency situations.
You can download the Cambrian Safe app at both the Apple and Google stores. We have created a guide for downloading and activating the app: this guide is available on your myCambrian Student Dashboard.
We encourage you to download the Cambrian Safe app to receive real-time emergency notifications and to have access to important on-campus safety information.
Code Blue and emergency telephones
To help provide a safe environment on campus, a Code Blue system, and emergency telephones are located throughout the building and campus grounds.
Exterior Code Blue
To use the Code Blue system, simply push the red “Help button”, to activate a blue strobe light and immediately connect to a Campus Public Safety personnel.
Mobile Bluelight
Mobile Bluelight is a feature on the Cambrian Safe app that allows users to simultaneously call Public Safety and provide their location in real time in an emergency.
To activate:
- Open the Cambrian Safe app
- Click on “Mobile BlueLight”
- Click on “Trigger Mobile BlueLight”
Emergency phone
Emergency phones are located throughout the building. To use any of the Emergency telephones, simply touch the screen and dial 7911 for assistance.
Safe at Cambrian
Cambrian College is committed to maintaining a healthy and safe learning, living, social, recreational, and work environment. As a follow-up to the release of an official sexual assault and sexual violence policy and protocol in 2015, we launched Safe at Cambrian.
Safe at Cambrian promotes awareness of the College’s sexual assault and sexual violence policies and protocols and provides important information about how to get help and support for those who have experienced or witnessed sexual assault or sexual violence.
